The Housing Authority of Fiji board yesterday thanked Republic of Fiji Military Forces Commander Brigadier-General Mosese Tikoitoga for his service, after serving as the chairman of the organisation for two years.
Brigadier-General Tikoitoga admitted that being a board member helped him in his role as the new Commander and has broadened his knowledge especially in dealing with finance and other administrative issues.
He also thanked the board members for tolerating him for the years they had spent together.
“The board members knows that I ask stupid questions at board meetings but I was fortunate enough to be surrounded by smart people who kept telling me what will happen and what should happen,” Brigadier-General Tikoitoga said.
“I am really thankful to the board for the directions and all the achievements that has happened during the last few years.”
Brigadier-General Tikoitoga said he was thankful that the board members always tolerated him when he asked them to explain things in simple terms.
“I know if anything, I have been a headache to you (board members) for asking stupid question at the wrong time in my ignorance in my process of the financial statement,” he said.
Board chairman Narendra Prasad, in his address yesterday, said he would try his best to continue the work of Brigadier-General Tikoitoga.
“Brigadier General Tikoitoga leaves behind notable achievements that I will do my best to continue and emulate.
“He was a man who was dedicated, committed and focused on ensuring that at the end of the day Fijians will be able to afford and access adequate housing as per Section 35 of the Constitution,” Mr Prasad said.
