The Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency are hoping to send more students for the European Union Erasmus Mundus Scholarship, compared to previous years.
Head of Erasmus Mundus from Brussels Monika Holik said they do not know the exact number of students they will accept, but encourages Fijians to apply.
“There were 30 students who benefited from this scholarship and we hope to increase the number this year,” she said.
“The students who want to apply need to have a very good academic record and speak English and I know that’s not a problem in Fiji.”
There are two types of scholarships under the European Union Erasmus Mundus Scholarship and they hope the students make the most of the opportunity.
“One is to study in any Pacific country and the other one is when you go to Europe to study there,” said Mrs Holik.
“We would like to receive a lot of applications from excellent students who can benefit after their studies.”
Mrs Holik urged those interested to find out more about the scholarships for their website – http://eacea.ec.europa.eu/erasmus mundus/results compendia/selected projects en.php.
